I have been in a slump and need to find some fish. Enoch Sears, ArCH AIA LEED AP suggests that this group would be great at identifying their favorite fishing holes. He suggests that we find out where the ‘fish’ hang out. Namely, contractors and others who are often consulted by potential clients who are thinking about building.
Where have you found your fish, your good referrers?
Where have you found that they hang out?
In the past I have had some success with contractors, real estate agents/brokers, property managers, BOMA members, ICSC members, etc. but not always sure where to go looking for them.
How about you?
I am generally looking for small business owners or representatives of larger owners who need help with a particular problem or a future tenant.
Who are you looking for?
Where have you been finding them?
from my coaching sessions – the feedback I get is contractors are #1 by a loooong shot, they are out there on the coal face having conversations with clients who are asking questions. The question is how can you make them think of you first? How can you make them owe you the referal? what can you do for the contractor to inspire reciprocation?
